Regular production of ammunition cartridge using gun powder for Sniders Rifle and Henry Martini Rifle commenced in 1872. In 1886, manufacture of Cartg 0.303" magazine rifle was established using cordite (made from nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine paste) propellant. In 1914 there was an expansion of manufacturing facilities at Ammunition Factory Khadki & different types of primary explosives like mercury fulminate, lead azide, lead styphnate and filling of caps, detonators, percussion fuzes & different pyrotechnique stores were introduced at Ammunition Factory Khadki for meeting the requirements of war in Asia & Africa.

Recruitment of Forest Guards 205 Post
HIMACHAL PRADESH FOREST DEPARTMENT
Applications are invited for filling fill up 205 posts of Forest Guards on contract
basis through Direct Recruitment on the prescribed proforma at Forest Circle Level. The
recruitment will be held at different Circle offices i.e. at Bilaspur, Chamba, Dharmsala,
Hairpur, Kullu, Mandi, Nahan, Rampur, Shimla, WL Shimla, WL Dharmsala and National Park,
Shamshi, Kullu. The recruitment of Forest Guards on Contract Basis will be made as per
Government Notification No. FFE-A (B) 2-19/96 dated 1/3/2003, FFE – A(b) 1-3/2005 dated
2/6/2007 as per R & P Rules. On contract basis recruitment are made as per R & P Rules
notified vide Notification No. FFE-A (B) 1-3/2005 dated 23/10/2008. The Contractual Forest
Guards will be paid Rs. 5910-20200+2000 G.P. on monthly basis. The successful candidates
will enter into an agreement with the Divisional Forest Officer concerned as per terms and
conditions laid down for contractual appointments.Desirous candidates can apply for
recruitment of Forest Guard on prescribed application form fulfilling the terms and
conditions for appointment to the post of Forest Guard from 20/3/2013 to 16/4/2013 (5.00
P.M.) in person or through mail to any Forest Circle of his choice or in area of his residence.
His circle of choice will not be changed for first 10 years of his service and thereafter also
not without losing his circle seniority. Candidates residing in Tribal Areas i.e. Kinnaur, Lahaul
